Top QB's as of week 6

Welcome back to NothingButYardLines blogspot where everything here is about football. I'm Christian A., and here we go with the top QB's of the NFL. First you have the defending champion Big Ben Roethlisberger with 1,887 yards completing 150 out of 207 passes along with 10 TD's and 4 INT's. Next you have Matt Schaub completing 143 out of 219 passes with 14 TD's and 5 INT's and 1,810 passing yards. This man just came back from a season ending injury Tom Brady with over 1,700 passing yards, 156 completed passes, 12 TD's and just only 2 INT's. I have got to say this young quarterback Joe Flacco has really stepped up with his numbers. He has 1,674 passing yards, 145 completed passes, 11 TD's and 5 INT's. And last but not least of the top 5 best, 3 time NFL MVP Peyton Manning has 1,645 passing yards, completed 73% of his passing with 133 completions, 12 TD's and 4 INT's with a QB rating of 114.1. Very accurate quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. I'm Christian A., and this was NothingButYardLines until next time.

Michael Crabtree's Deal

Welcome back to Nothing But Yards blogspot where everything talked here is about football! Here today we're going to talk about what money can do to a young superstar. Michael Crabtree has a 30 million dollar deal with the NFL 49ers but can't stick with what's been given to him. Money changes people in every way including NFL and college players like Crabtree. Most people can say that he is conceeded, money hungry, and not really concerned with his teammates or the NFL. Even though it seems he just wants more money or he will sit out the whole entire season and re-enter the draft in 2010, he is talented from Texas Tech and is a high caliber receiver. But after all this it seems that Crabtree will sit out this season and will not play at all. Well this has been Nothing But Yards blog and I'm Christian A and I will see you later! Michael Vick's Pursuit

After the dog fighting, franchise quarter back Michael Vick is pursuing the New England Patriots (3 time Superbowl winners). Christian A here with Nothing But Yards blog spot where everything talked here is about football! Even though he was once one of the most highest paid quarter backs in the NFL once upon a time, the New England Patriots are not acquiring Michael Vick. The Patriots' quarter back Tom Brady is now back on his feet after tearing his ACL against the Kansas City Chiefs so Michael Vick wouldn't have had any game time because of the Patriots' head coach's decision. So what's in store for this year in the NFL? We have yet to find out. This was Nothing But Yards blog and I'm Christian A and I will see you next time! remember to always keep your head up!

Starting Of the NFL

The next season of the NFL starts August 9th!! I'm really excited because I get to see my favorite QB pass the ball to every receiver on the Ny Giants football team. My name is Christian A and this Nothing But Yards blog spot where everything talked about here is about football my favorite sport. The Hall of Fame game is between the Buffalo Bills with the new star T.O and the best record wise team from last year the Tennessee Titans in the pre-season. I got just a feeling that the Bills might not take this game for a dominant team like the Titans are not going to take it easy. The Bills are a well balanced team and all but the Titans have their dominatiing defense to stop the run so I don't think the Bills are going to do much running at all. The Titans are going to have to do alot of passing because the Bills don't really have a passing defense. But I'm really excited to see the NFL start again because I have always loved to see Sunday afternoon, Monday night, and Thursday night football games. You can find more of this and any team schedules or highlights or scores at NFL.com I'm Christian A and I will see everyone later and remember to always keep your head up!

The Punter's Role

Welcome back to Nothing But Yards blogspot where I'm the host Christian A! Today we are going to get a kick out of punting with some new tips. My friend plays punter(P) position and he is very good at it so he gave me some tips on how to punt the ball the correct way. He told me to always keep my head focused on the ball and be careful not to hold the ball so long or you will get it blocked. You have to ensure that you really get your foot into the ball and kick away to make a line drive punt. To make a sky punt you boot the ball with the curve of your foot and boot it good enough so you get alot of hangtime. But if you do hold the ball for a long time you will get it blocked like I said, so get the right grip on it fast and give it all the leg you have. The D-line's Role

Welcome back to Nothing But Yards where everything here is about football! I'm Christian A and here we go with football tips. Today is a time where there are really good pass blockers in the NFL so what do you do to get a sack off the QB(quarterback)? I'll tell you everything you want to know about how to get to your objective. The O-line guys will play dirty if they see that you have a speed advantage over them. So here is what you do if you have a big slow guy to get through: you juke to one side and then you spin to the other side to get him to go the other way then if you have an opening you go straight for the sack or the forced fumble. Remember that you are faster than the O-line guy so you can speed around him or just easily spin or juke pass him. Those are tips for the DE's and LE's, now here are some tips for the DT's. If you are heavier than your opposition then you can easily push him over to the side like its nothing but if you don't weigh more than him than uh oh here comes trouble. But let's think positive and say that you have the weight advantage, than you can just push him down if your feet are set firmly on the ground and your position is just right then you can pancake him and go for the sack. But if you see that the QB isn't on his gaurd then go for the strip and make him fumble. Remember always keep your head up! This was Nothing But Yards and you just got some more tips on how to play the game of football (my favorite). I'm Christian A and I'll see you next time!!!

The Cornerback's Role

Welcome back to Nothing But Yards Blog Spot where everything talked about here is teaching you how to play the game of football! I'm Christian A and this is the role I'm going to give tips on. Today's role is the cornerback and if you want the deepback. One tip to slow down the receiver is to give him a little chuck or bump when you're within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. If he goes for a quick slant towards the endzone, you stay in front of him by strafing side to side. If he goes for a post towards the sideline then you would be able to follow him until he does the cut move. When he just goes for a quick right or left route (going up 5-10 steps and making a quick cut move to the right or left) stay inside his route meaning not just following him or cover him but cover the area where the QB has to get the ball to him safely. But this time he's going deep! What do you do? You give him the old chuck and bump to stop him from getting at full speed and slow him down at the line of scrimmage. You have just gained some knowledge about how to defend your receiver. Use it wisely to your advantage. I'm Christian A and this was Nothing But Yards and my favorite game of football, see you next time!

The Half Back's Role

Well here we are at my spot where everything is about football. I'm Christian A and here we go with football! Today I'm going to give some friendly and useful tips about being the ball carrier in the game of football. My favorite position was always the HB because I play as one on my football team. Even though I take hits I still love the game of football! Now what I do to help me carry the ball is tuck it low and just speed through the middle. That's what my coach always tells me so thats one thing i do to help improve my skills. The other is to carry the ball on the opposite side of the defender so you won't get it stripped from you. So thats the things I do to help me carry the ball. Remember to always keep your head up! This was Nothing But Yards and I'll see you later!

Wide Receiver Tips

Out with the old football playing and in with the new! This is the "now" time not the "old" time of the NFL, so there are going to be newer techniques added in the NFL.

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself! I'm Christian A and welcome to Nothing But Yards where everything here on this blog is all about football!! Today's tip is on the WR group (wide receiver). When at the line of scrimmage you always keep your head up when you go deep and look at the QB when you know you are open. Don't just wave your hand just because you want the ball and you think your open when your not. Back on track, chop your hands back and forth to gain more momentum to build your speed up. Like running track at the Olympics you do the same thing while sprinting. So here are the steps:

1) Keep your head up at the line of scrimmage and keep your mind set on the word "Hike".
2) When you hear this noise you keep your feet moving and run your route just as precise as you see it on the drawing board.
3) Remember to keep chopping and keep those feet moving.
4) Once you are truly open or see a mis-match you wave your hand and look at your QB.
5) If you are open and receive your intended pass you will be a consistant target for your QB and your defenders will set a spotlight on you if they know you are a dangerous WR.

This was Christian A and you just got some new tips on how to play my favorite game of football! See you next time!

A Center's Role

Welcome back to Nothing But Yards where everything blogged here is about football! I'm Christian A and this is today's tip. When your role is a Center in the game of football, it is not easy at all. You will be engaged with defenders once you hike the ball, so here we go with the hike.

1) Get your feet planted firmly on the ground in your best position because the rush will be on!
2) The Defensive ends might be faster and the Defensive tackles might be stronger than you, but you have a plan right?
3) Get the football placed on the ground and look and listen for the quarterback's call for the motion.
4) Once you hear the word "Hike" you quickly get the snap back to the QB and keep your head up for defenders.
5) Get your feet set and put your weight onto your challenger and plant him on the ground like you mean business.
6) Keep doing this and you will soon be one of the O-line leaders in pancakes.
7) Remember to keep your head up and dont get intimidated or you might cause a sack or a tackle for a loss and that is not good at all. Keep yourself tuned in for more tips on how to play my favorite sport!!

Throwing a Football-Tips

The last time we chatted, we talked about holding a football properly, right? So this time around, I am going to discuss how to throw a football. Straight from Christian A, this is how it goes, one easy tip:
  1. To grip the laces if you can, pull your arm back with force and fling the ball with your wrist.
  2. Throw the football with your wrist to get more accuracy and spiral the football.
  3. After that, the pass is completed to your intended receiver.

We will discuss more later. Have to get ready for my graduation!

Nothing But Yards is here!

Welcome to my new blog: http://nothingbutyards.blogspot.com where I talk about everything football! Hi my name is Christian A. and I am a football enthusiast! It is my desire to blog about football. A place where we can discuss the proper position to hold a football while running. When you want more break away speed, you hold the ball away from the opposed defender/tackler in your good hand and sprint for the pylon for six points. Ooops! Got carried away there! See what I mean? This is all about football everyone. So sit back and relax while I take you to the end zone!
